Food waste An Overview of Global Food Wastage
SMPP Software ProviderOur world is moving towards a time when the demand for food will exceed the supply. The 7 Billion world population is expected to rise to 9.3 billion by 2050. And it is this inflating population along with severe food wastage that is going to cause this non equilibrium between the demand and supply of food. Food wastage is an acute Global problem. Globally, one third of the produced food is lost in wastage one way or the other. Reports show that half of the food produced in USA and Europe never gets consumed. A direct result of this is disbalance in world economy and an increase in the number of undernourished population. About 15% of the people in this world are reportedly undernourished. Over 20,000 children die of various diseases related to undernourishment everyday over the globe.
