2015 was another busy year for Google with the search engine giant making a number of changes to its existing algorithms. Although it didn’t announce any major update, it did bring forth several minor ones, all of which focused on quality, mobile and e-commerce.
Its mobile update or the significant new mobile-friendly ranking algorithm was, perhaps, the most awaited update of all. However, the update, nicknamed Mobilegeddon, turned out to be a damp squib and left industry experts questioning its “significance”. Prominent changes were made to Phantom 3 and Panda data refresh for fixing low-quality content, which made experts and professionals sit up and take notice.
