SMPP Software ProviderAs part of their on-going research project exploring the ways in which mobile technology has impacted our day-to-day lives, UK insurance brand, loveit coverit, have conducted a survey of over 1,000 consumers to find out how the use of mobile payments has grown.

This infographic highlights the growing popularity of mobile payments – whether that be Apple Pay, online M-commerce, or other contactless methods – and how it is becoming a contender for traditional retail outlets. For example, mobile payments are the prefered payment option for 1 in 10 people, indicating its growing popularlity among consumers. The data also demonstrates how much, on average, is spent in a week via mobile payments, as well as the most frequently bought items, showing which industries are benefiting most from the shift to mobile. The inforgraphic also looks at some of the negative impacts of mobile payments. For example, the fact that 36.35% of people don't track their mobile spending and the way this could impact consumers.
